A Powerful Locomotive
After a few weeks of running around and getting work for my re-worked portfolio together, it was very nice to get a visit from my roommate down at school in Savannah and a great concert put on by the band Steel Train. I have to say my friends, after only hearing knowing a few tracks off their first album Trampoline then seeing them live; they put on an amazing performance of new and old material.
I got the chance to take my camera out on this adventure and make a few photo’s during the show. This was my first time getting out and into the concert environment to shoot so I quickly found how hard it is to zone out into the music and forget to take pictures every now and then. It wasn’t bad though, I was able to enjoy myself and focus on taking pictures every now and then.
In terms of the concert, I definitely can say that the band live is a completely different experience than hearing the album on and I-pod or in the car. The band boasts a definite presence on stage and no instrument was drowned out by another. After meeting with one of the members after the show, I definitely can say that I am looking forward to the next concert they’ll be putting on in ATL in the future.
